So the past few months really got away from me but I wanted to get my favourites feature back on track for the month of July. So, here are a few things I enjoyed last month!
My favourite piece for July is definitely the Topshop slip dress I wore to graduation. I've been loving the slip dress trend for a while so I couldn't resist picking this up. It's an easy and comfortable piece to wear but the print means it can pass for more formal occasions. I had another outfit in mind for graduation but this dress blew that out of the water, especially since the gold leaves matched the gold on my gown.
My friend got me the Korres lip butter in Mandarin during her trip to Greece. It's amazing at moisturizing and I love the subtle colour it gives.
Since exams ended, I've had a lot more time on my hands for reading fiction. I didn't realize how much I missed being able to read for fun and getting so sucked into a book that I lose my sense of time. All the books I've read lately have been good but there were two standouts.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
A friend of mine raved about the series so I thought I'd give it a try. The story takes place in a world of humans and faeries who live in separate territories. The heroine is a huntress called Feyre who kills a wolf. A beast later shows up at her home to claim retribution and she finds herself dragged to the faerie lands where she must remain forever to repay her debt. The beast turns out to be a very powerful faerie who lives on a beautiful estate in eternal spring. However, their world is full of danger and Feyre soon learns how terrible things really are. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would and now I have to read the second book.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by JK Rowling
With all the Potter-mania that's been going on lately, I had to re-read the first book. Can you believe the book turns 10 years old next year? It's strange to think about. But going back and re-reading the first book was, of course, magical and I loved rediscovering the world JK Rowling built.
I feel like it goes without saying but Pokemon Go is awesome and Pokemon hunting has become my second priority after job hunting.
